| 2007 - Las Vegas Nevada . The Palazzo /pəˈlɑːtsoʊ/ is a luxury hotel and casino resort situated between Wynn and The Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is the tallest completed building in Nevada. Designed by the Dallas based HKS, Inc., the hotel offers luxury in a modern European ambiance. The hotel and casino are part of a larger complex (operated as one hotel) comprising the adjoining Venetian Hotel and Casino and the Sands Convention Center, all of which are owned and operated by the Las Vegas Sands Corporation.
This all-suite hotel offers the largest standard accommodations on the Las Vegas Strip at 720 square feet per guest room. The hotel complex is named the largest hotel in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.In its first year of eligibility, The Palazzo was awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award for 2009, and has been awarded the honor every year since. |

| 1946 - Reno, NV. The Nevada Turf Club, at 34 East Commercial Row, opened as a race book. Shortly after they opened, table games and slots were added. Accused of accepting out-of-state bets, the owner closed the club in February of 1955. A year later the club reopened, under a different license holder, but remained open for only a few months. |

| 1946 - Reno, NV. The Winmor Club was licensed at 146 North Center Street, the former location of The Wheel. |

| 1960 - Reno, NV. Jarrad's opened at 2400 South Virginia Street, with one 21 game and three slot machines. On November 7, 1960, the State of Nevada closed the club, for alleged cheating on the 21 game. |

| 1937 - Coronado Beach, San Diego California. Monte Carlo was anchored 3 miles (4.8 km) off Coronado Beach in San Diego where it was in international waters, outside the boundary of state and federal law. During a storm on New Year's Day in 1937 the anchor lost its hold and the ship drifted onto the beach in front of what is now the El Camino Tower of the Coronado Shores condos. No one claimed ownership because, once on shore, this gambling and prostitution ship was illegal.
The wreckage can be seen underwater at low tide, and is occasionally exposed during strong storm tides. There has been speculation that there may be $150,000 worth of silver dollar coins remaining in the slot machines.
