2019 - Sunday

1947 - Las Vegas, NV.   Hi-Life Club opens at 3183 L.A. Highway 91, on the Las Vegas Strip.

1962 - Elko, NV.   Crumley is often credited with being the first to bring well-known performers to Nevada, hiring popular stars such as bandleader Ted Lewis and singer Sophie Tucker to appear at the Commercial in the early 1940s. Casino owners in Las Vegas and Reno followed Crumley's lead, and Nevada soon became famous for its top flight entertainment as well as legalized gambling.With his interest in politics, Crumley was an alternate Nevada delegate to the 1952 Republican National Convention. He served a term in the Nevada senate from 1955 to 1958, where he became known as a powerbroker.Crumley moved to Reno in the mid-1950s and took over the Holiday Hotel. In 1960, he was elected to the University of Nevada Board of Regents. He died in a plane crash on February 11, 1962. .

2015 - Las Vegas, NV.   The hotel was forced into bankruptcy on April 6, 2009, by its creditors. Canpartners Reality (owned by Canyon Capital Reality Partners and Spectrum Group Management) took over control on August 19, 2009, taking possession of the foreclosed property. As of April 2013, the hotel was branded a Clarion Hotel, the only Clarion with a casino. The 300-seat theater built by Debbie Reynolds was used for a Sunday Gospel Brunch and a nightly show. The hotel closed on September 2, 2014, after the Labor Day weekend. Its contents and inventory were put up for sale.In October 2014, developer Lorenzo Doumani purchased the property for $22.5 Million. The Clarion was demolished by implosion shortly before 3 a.m. on February 10, 2015.Following the implosion, the elevator shaft of the building did not fall as intended, remaining mostly intact. It was pulled down about 13 hours later by cables attached to a crane. .

1969 - Las Vegas, NV.   Golden Hotel opens, 200 S. 1st St., Las Vegas.

1999 - Las Vegas Nevada.   Santa Fe Station is a hotel and casino located on North Rancho Drive in Las Vegas, Nevada. The casino is owned by Station Casinos and is located on 36 acres (15 ha) of land. The hotel-casino originally opened as the Santa Fe in 1991, and for several years included the only ice rink in Las Vegas. The Santa Fe was involved in a labor dispute with Culinary Workers Union that began in 1993 and lasted into 2000 when the resort was sold to Station Casinos. The resort was renamed the Santa Fe Station and subsequently underwent several expansions and renovations.

2001 - Kansas City, MO.   Ameristar casino opens.

2001 - Kansas City, MO.   Station casino closes.

2006 - Las Vegas, NV.   Edge sold Bourbon Street and adjacent properties to Harrah's Entertainment in March 2005. Records filed with the county listed the total property value at $60.6 million. Harrah's decided to close Bourbon Street effective October 31, 2005. On October 18, however, a water main broke, threatening the building's structural integrity, and the property closed early. Demolition work began the following January, and the tower was imploded on February 14, 2006.Between 2005 and 2007, Harrah's had consolidated control of much of the east side of the central Strip, also acquiring the Imperial Palace, Barbary Coast, and much of the residential Flamingo Estates neighborhood north of Bourbon Street. CEO Gary Loveman envisioned a mega-resort called Epicentre for the company's 350 acres. As of 2012, the plan has not materialized, and the Bourbon Street site remains vacant.

2012 - Las Vegas Nevada .   The Mob Museum, officially the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is a history museum located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened on February 14th, 2012, the Mob Museum is dedicated to featuring the artifacts, stories, and history of organized crime in the United States, as well as the actions and initiatives by law enforcement to prevent such crimes. The Museum is housed in the former Las Vegas Post Office and Courthouse, which was built in 1933 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum is located on Stewart Avenue, two blocks north of Fremont Street, the main artery of the downtown casino district. .

1935 - Reno, NV.   Louie's Rendezvous, 12 East Second Street, was licensed for blackjack. The club had opened, without gambling, in December of 1934. In October of 1935 became Leon & Eddie's.

2001 - St. Charles, MO.   Casino St. Charles closes, becomes Ameristar casino.

2019 - Saturday

1944 - Reno, NV.   The Wheel Club opened at 146 North Center Street. The club offered penny roulette as well as 21 and slot machines. Damaged by fire on November 13, 1945, the club never reopened .

2016 - St. Julien, Malta.   Casino Grand Opening.
