1946 - Queens New York.   Born June 14,1946, Donald John Trump is an American real estate developer, television personality, politician, and author. He is the chairman and president of The Trump Organization and the founder of Trump Entertainment Resorts. Estimated worth ($4 billion Forbes Magazine 2015 ).

2014 - Las Vegas Nevada .   The Jackie Gaughan's Downtown Las Vegas Exhibit Unveiled at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino as a tribute to the late gambling pioneer. Jackie Gaughan passed away in 2013 at the age of 93. He lived at the El Cortez Hotel and could be found in the casino daily playing pokerThe exhibit includes artifacts from the nine downtown Las Vegas casinos that Jackie Gaughan owned or managed. Artifacts include casino chips and tokens, ashtrays, matchbooks, postcards, and other items. Part of the exhibit is a 30 minute continuously running video about Jackie and his casinos.

2016 - Las Vegas Nevada.   The Riviera Hotel and Casino - the Las Vegas Strip's first high-rise that was as famous for its mobster ties as its Hollywood personification of Sin City's mobster past - officially exited the scene early Tuesday with a cinematic implosion, complete with fireworks. The 24-story Monaco Tower was demolished around 2:30 a.m. when a series of explosions sounded, followed by the building crumbling from the sides and then into the middle, kicking up a mountain of dust. A fireworks display erupted moments before the demolition. "The Riv" closed in May 2015 after 60 years on the northern end of the Strip. The shuttered casino's owners, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, spent $42 million to level the 13-building campus.

1936 - Reno, NV.   The Sierra Bar, 243 Sierra Street, was licensed for 21, until August 31, 1936.

1965 - Las Vegas, NV.   Carousel Casino opens at 32 East Fremont Street, downtown Las Vegas.

1971 - Las Vegas, NV.   Big Wheel Casino opens at 2440 Las Vegas Blvd. South, on the Las Vegas Strip.

1960 - Las Vegas, NV.   El Rancho Vegas burns to the ground in a fire of suspicious origin, never determined and never rebuilt.

1985 - Atlantic City, NJ.   Opened in 1985 as Trump's Castle,The casino was built by Hilton Hotels, but when the building was nearly complete, that company was denied a gambling license by the State of New Jersey due to alleged ties to organized crime and sold the complex to Donald Trump. It opened in 1985 as Trump's Castle. In 1988, the casino became one of the settings for the game show version of Yahtzee, and in 1990 it was the setting for the game show Trump Card.Revenues at Trump Castle took a sharp decline in 1990 due to competition from its newly opened sister property, Trump Taj Mahal, as well as broader economic factors such as the Gulf War and the early 1990s recession. A payment to bondholders was made in December 1990 only with the help of a $3.5 million purchase of casino chips by Trump's father, Fred Trump, which was later determined to be an illegal loan. Unable to make its next payment on $338 million in bonds, the Castle began debt restructuring negotiations in May 1991. Hilton offered to repurchase the prop.

1992 - E. Dubuque, IL.   Silver Eagle casino opens.

1993 - Aurora, IL.   Hollywood casino opens.

2014 - Las Vegas Nevada.   Two new displays now open: Experience Bugsy Siegel's Flamingo Hotel through artifacts dating from the casino's opening in 1946. The display is found in the 2nd Floor Open City. Imagine living in a time when legendary illegal gambling Joints flourished across America before Las Vegas emerged as the nation's undisputed casino capital. This display is found on the 3rd Floor Evidence Room.The new displays are presented through partnerships with the Museum of Gaming History and the Casino Chip & Gaming Token Collectors Club and open simultaneously with a display at the El Cortez featuring casino chips and other objects from the many downtown casinos once operated by Jackie Gaughan.

1931 - Reno, NV.   The Hollywood Club was a bar at 29 1/2 East Douglas Alley. From June 19, 1931 until September 19, 1931, it was licensed for pan and poker.

1931 - Reno, NV.   The Star Club opened at 141 Lake Street and operated until 1932. From 1932-1944 The New Star Club operated at this location.

1990 - Las Vegas, NV.   Excalibur Hotel and Casino is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, in the United States. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International. Excalibur, named for the mythical sword of King Arthur, uses the Arthurian theme in several ways. Its facade is a stylized image of a castle. Until 2007, a wizard-like figure representing Merlin looked out from a high turret (since replaced by a figure advertising Dick's Last Resort).Excalibur is situated at the Tropicana - Las Vegas Boulevard intersection. The hotel is linked by overhead pedestrian bridges to neighboring casinos to the north (New York-New York, across Tropicana Avenue) and to the east (Tropicana, across the Strip). There is a free tram that connects Excalibur to its sister MGM Resorts International properties to the south, Luxor and Mandalay Bay.

1931 - Reno, NV.   The Monte Carlo opened at 216 North Virginia, offering blackjack, craps, roulette, big six, faro, poker and klondike. It closed in December of 1931.

1942 - Reno, NV.   Murray's is licensed at 230 North Virginia Street, a liquor store with a few slot machines. In June of 1944 the liquor store was converted into a cocktail lounge; over the years 21 and roulette were added. The Nevada Club leased the property from 1952 until 1996, when they bought it.

1946 - Reno, NV.   Harrah's Casino opened at 210 North Virginia Street, Reno. .

1947 - Beverly Hills, CA.   Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel is shot and killed at Virginia Hill's (his girlfriend) house located at 810 N. Linden Dr., Beverly Hills, CA. The murder remains unsolved to this day.

1980 - Reno, NV.   It opened on April 23, 1971 and includes a Tuscan themed pool deck, 1,623 hotel rooms, 785 suites, 10 restaurants and 107,272 sq. ft. of convention space. On June 21, 2011, the American Automobile Association awarded the hotel a Four Diamond rating.The hotel has 10 restaurants, including a 24-hour café. Nightlife and entertainment options include 15 themed bars and lounges, including a nightclub.Peppermill's Spa and Salon Toscana is a 33,000 square foot spa retreat with a caldarium including indoor pool, sun deck and garden. 24 treatment rooms and a salon are available. The spa also includes a 9,500 square foot health club, two heated, resort-style pools with private cabanas, and an outside bar. .
