Successful for a time, in November of 1937 the Town House assets were sold at auction, with the proceeds going to the creditors. A month or so later, the Town House reopened under new ownership, and "The Riding Lesson" was adopted as the logo. Over the years there were various ownership and management changes, and varying degrees of financial success. The Club closed and filed for bankruptcy in 1950, but reopened in 1951. On September 2, 1955, the Town House was destroyed by fire; arson-the casinos leaseholder had deliberately burned the Town House down, according to the courts .

The hotel is the site of the Sahara Ave station, the northernmost stop for the Las Vegas Monorail. The Sahara was one of the last remaining vintage "Rat Pack" casino-hotels, leaving only the Flamingo, The Riviera, Caesars Palace, and The Tropicana.
