1931 - Reno, NV. From the 1920's until 1957 Lawton's Hot Springs Resort was operated by the Mark Yori family, and became known for its large swimming pool, park area and mineral baths. In 1931 Felix Turillas and John Etchebarren leased the property from the Yori family and obtained a gaming license for slots, craps, roulette and 21...the first of several gaming facilities to operate on the property. In 1936 & 1937 Gene Rovetti operated Club Lawton on the property. In 1938 there were eight greyhound races each night. From 1942-1943 The River House Club was open. In May of 1944 Bob Neeman's Reno Rancho opened, only to close in July. Gaming was sporadic on the property, and under several different operators. In October of 1957, Mark Yori sold the property, which would eventually become the Holiday Lodge. . |

Laughton's Hot Springs was mis-spelled "Lawton's" on their first signs. The signs were not changed, so both spellings were used. |

1939 - Las Vegas, NV. Mission Club, 2nd & Fremont opens, downtown Las Vegas. |

1947 - Las Vegas, NV. Club Bingo open as the forth casino on highway 91, which is now called the Las Vegas strip, on July 24, 1947. The Sahara Hotel would be built later on the same location in 1952.

1963 - Reno, NV. Poor Pete's Casino opened at 275 North Virginia Street, owned by Peter Perinati. Perinati died less than a year later, and the casino closed in October of 1964. In 1965 it reopened as the Whistle Stop. |

1968 - Palm Beach, Aruba. Aruba Sheraton opens, closes in 1980. Becomes the Hart Sheraton casino. |

1945 - Reno, NV. The Sagehen Club, at 1099 South Virginia Street, was a locals bar that had a gaming license for 21, for less than a year. |

2012 - Atlantic City NJ. The Revel hotel casino opened April 12th 2012. The Revel was the northernmost casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, located on 20 acres (8.1 ha) of land, adjacent to the Showboat Hotel & Casino. Revel opened on April 2, 2012, and closed on September 2, 2014, after declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time. Later that month, on September 11, 2014, the casino reached a deal to sell itself to a developer based in Florida – Polo North Country Club - for a fee of $90 million. However, plans fell though, and Revel was sold at the September 30, 2014, auction to Brookfield Asset Management for $110 million. However Brookfield Management backed out of the deal on November 19, 2014.Revel was the third of four Atlantic City casinos to close in 2014. |
