The Tavern was scheduled to open on October 31, 1932, but the opening was delayed because of multiple banks closing during the depression. For five years the Tavern was successful, then her fortunes began to change. In early November, 1939 the assets, including the gaming equipment, were sold at auction. Then, on Thanksgiving, the Tavern opened once again...and regained its popularity. On May 4, 1941, the Tavern was destroyed by fire. .
